Tom Bowen received a Special Recognition Award at the Rowing Victoria Awards Luncheon on Sunday 4 October at Mercantile Rowing Club.
The award acknowledges Tom's contribution to rowing in Victoria that started in 1977 when he took up the position of Teacher in Charge of Rowing at Melbourne High School.
Steve Whittington, a Board Member of Rowing Victoria and Acting CEO, spoke of Tom's contribution to to rowing over a period of more than 30 years and of Tom's role as one of the sport's unsung heroes. Andy Guerin presented Tom with the recognition award.
