2009 Australian Representatives

Men’s Coxless Four

Cameron McKenzie-McHarg (1998) has been selected in the Men's Coxless Four to compete at the 2009 World Rowing Championships, Poznan, Poland: 23 – 30 August 2009.

He is joined in the crew by Francis Hegerty (Sydney University – NSWIS), James Marburg (Melbourne University – VIS) and Mathew Ryan (Sydney University – NSWIS).

This is the crew that won a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The crew will be coached by Tim Conrad (QAS) who will be supported by Chris O’Brien. They will be training in Melbourne.

Men’s Lightweight Coxless Four

Angus Tyers (2005) has been selected to compete in the Men's Lightweight Coxless Four who will also compete at Poznan.

The other crew members are Ross Brown (Swan River – WAIS), Darryn Purcell (Toowong – QAS) and Chris Bigg (University of Qld – QAS).

They will be coached by Chris O’Brien (VIS), coach of Drew Ginn and Duncan Free at the Beijing Olympics. They will also train in Melbourne.

Men's Under 23 Men’s Eight

Alex Scharp (2003) and Wil Lockwood (2006) have been selected in the Men's Under 23 Men’s Eight to compete at the Under 23 World Championships, Racice, Czech Republic: 23 – 26 July 2000.

They will be coached by Rhett Ayliffe (AIS), coach of the Men's Double Scull at the Beijing Olympics. They will train in Canberra.
